Intuitive Art with Visionary Artist Barbara McKell Saturday Nov. 2nd from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Location: Sacred Circle Studio 254 Gosling Gardens Guelph ON or Saturday Dec 7th, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. For a limited time the cost is of the workshop is only $75 and includes all materials. Enjoy the freedom of Intuitive painting. Let your creative self go with the magic of watercolours, inks and mark making. Connect to the designs and patterns that exist within your inner knowing. Perfect for the insecure beginner and the seasoned artist. Release your inner critic. Get out of your mind and into your heart, as you surprise yourself by freeing what may be laying dormant since childhood. This is a non goal oriented way of finding the joy and freedom of creating your own sacred art. What is Intuitive Painting? Intuitive painting is a method of creating art that aims to explore and uncover aspects of the inner self. It is is suited to beginning artists, and to advanced painters. The goal is not to learn specific techniques, produce a body or work or develop a commercially viable style. How it will it work in this class? While this is not a technique based workshop you will be guided into the process. The creation of your own sacred art with start with watercolours as you discover the way they move and flow Barbara will guide you and offer various interesting materials so that you are able to lay down the aspects that satisfy your intuitive knowing. Whatever you create will be perfect for you. There is no right or wrong in this process because your are being guided by your very highest aspect. Come with a loving open mind and don’t be afraid to get a little messy. The materials will be supplied but if you already have some favourite pens, inks, markers, watercolour paints, or brushes, feel free to bring them along. Classes are small, 6 people max, so sign up early to avoid disappointment. Winter 2024/25 Mandala workshop Schedule Schedule Mandala Art - Introductory Workshop Saturday Oct. 26, 2024 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Location: Sacred Circle Studio, South Guelph This workshop is suitable for both adults and teens. Cost $75 Come and enjoy the meditative practice of mandala art. This is a simple one day workshop with Barbara Mckell, Visionary Artist. Barbara will take you on a journey through the fascinating basics of sacred geometry and teach you how to incorporate that knowledge to create your own original mandala. We will work in pencil, ink and learn how to create interesting effects with watercolour pencils. Each participant will take away at least one beautiful watercolour creation of their own design done on on 140 lb. cold pressed watercolour paper. All Materials supplied. No previous experience is necessary. Mandala Art Through Sacred Geometry with Barbara McKell 2 Day Sacred Geometry Mandala Experiential Art Workshop (part 1) Date: Nov.9 &10, 2024 Saturday and Sunday10:00am to 4:00 pm Location: Guelph Ontario Cost: $175.00 This in-depth workshop is conducted in Barbara's home studio in the south end of Guelph. The workshop will begin at 10:00 am and go to 4:00 pm with a half-hour break for lunch. This class is for everyone, beginners and the experienced are all welcome. To enjoy the full experience it is best if we all come with a beginners mind. Barbara’s approach is very accessible and intuitive. Barbara will introduce you to Sacred Geometry and offer practical ways to use it to map out your personal mandala. All the materials will be supplied, but you are welcome to bring any of your own materials if you like. We will be working on paper with pencil, ruler and compass to begin with. As our designs progress we will work with coloured pencils, coloured markers, watercolour or watercolour pencils. This 2 day workshop will give you time to workout your own personal mandala and bring it to life in the colours of your choosing. The cost of the workshop is $175 and includes your materials. Bring your own snacks and lunch. Please register for this class well in advance. This class is limited to 6 participants. 2 day Mandala Workshop (part 2) - Acrylic on Stretched Canvas *prerequisite part 1 Date: Nov. 23 & 24, 2024 Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM TO 4:00 PM Location: Barbara's home studio in south Guelph Cost: $275 In this Mandala workshop you will design your own personal meditation mandala and learn how to transfer your completed design to a canvas. Students will go through the steps of creating a finished mandala in acrylic on a 12"X 12" stretched canvas. You will learn special tips and tricks to embellish your mandala in dramatic ways to make it stand out as your unique expression. Materials will be supplied, but students are welcome to bring any favourite supplies, brushes or colours they may already have.
